Visit the School of Data Science for a Tour

Student Ambassadors lead 30-minute tours on Fridays at 12:00pm during the academic year. These tours will highlight what it's like to be in a student at the School of Data Science and all the features of our new building, which opened in June 2024. Tours are open to all prospective students. 

Undergraduate Programs

The B.S. in Data Science (BSDS) major is open to all first-year UVA students. The prerequisites for admission are DS 1001: Foundation of Data Science and DS 1002: Programming for Data Science (or equivalent), which prospective students should take in their first year. We also offer a Minor in Data Science, which is open to undergraduate students in all schools of enrollment. 

We will add more events for current first-year students on this page, so check back often. Current high school students should reach out to the Office of Undergraduate Admission about the first-year admissions process.
